Middle School Triumph

Middle school is not an easy feat. It's all new; a new school, meeting new friends, new teachers, new schedules, moving from teacher to teacher, manuevering physically, emotionally and spiritually through life with hormones raging and much more homework than in elementary school.

Elly did it with pizzaz, sass, determination, dedication, grace and maturity. Don't get me wrong, my middle daughter has way too much of her mother in her to be perfect. We had tears, missed assignments and bumps along the road. But this wonderful 6th grader successfully manuevered a difficult time in this thing we call life. Remember what it felt like to be 12? Look back at those pictures...or don't...because they are very scary.

Her humor and smarts combined got her to Tuesday night, where she was awarded a 4.0 award. Yes, she's promoting from 6th to 7th grade with a 4.0. I'm so proud of her.

This is us on that very windy Tuesday night celebrating. Here's to a successful 7th grade year.
