Santa Anas

My windows are open, and I am so very happy. This weekend was a beautiful gift from God. Gone were the triple digit temperatures, gone was burning your legs when you sit on the leather after the car as been sitting in the sun for 5 minutes and gone is the stale, stifling air in the house after having the air conditioner running for the last 5 months. It's jacket time. It's 70 in the morning. We're FREEZING. We walked outside Saturday morning to go to soccer and my drama queen actually said, "It's freezing out here." It's a whole new ballgame when you live in the desert. Jackets come out when the temperature dips below 80. At 60, we're in parkas wearing socks. It's the way when you live in a place where you are thrilled when it's going to be cooler than 110. The weather person exclaims, "Get ready for a cool down. We'll only see 109 tomorrow."

We're going to see the 90s by Wednesday, but for now it's only 70 something out there, the Santa Ana winds are blowing gently and cooly through my house, and I am happy.
